Concord MA Town and School Info
Concord, Massachusetts
No one can deny the pastoral beauty, history, and literary wealth of this Massachusetts treasure. Where else could you imagine Alcott, Emerson, Hawthorne and Thoreau sharing ideas and lunch along the Concord river? Where else can you walk the trails of the American Revolution, now part of the Minuteman National Park, culminating at the Old North Bridge and still feel the whisper of fife, drum and freedom hard won?
Concord is an historic town of 16,000 residents, only 20 miles from Boston. Four private schools, Fenn and Nashoba Brooks (elementary) and Concord Academy and Middlesex (secondary), call Concord home, while its public schools are highly rated. Concord's government is open town meeting and its citizens are active in any number of contemporary movements. Its shopping is purely and wonderfully local throughout the town center and contributes greatly to its small town character.
A lively arts center and annual autumn festival of authors still bring writers and their fans to Concord.
