Boxborough is a small town that is proud of its size, character and traditions. Incorporated in 1783, it has been a farming village for most of its centuries. In the last 40 years Boxborough has suddenly found itself a bedroom community, a center for important corporations and a hi-tech commuter town. About 5000 residents call it home.
 
Boxborough's Fifer's Festival in June and the annual Grange Fair in September bring excitement. Each year a "Golden Fife" award is presented to a Boxborough resident who has contributed meaningful service to the town. Boxborough's large Minuteman re-enactors contingent, march in parades and participate in the annual Patriot's Day events in Concord. They, and the active historical society together preserve local history. There is a high volunteer presence in government and committees.
 
Boxborough's elementary school is highly rated, while the regional high school it shares with Acton is nationally known and award winning.
 
With its mixture of condominiums, apartments and single family dwellings, Boxborough offers a welcome array of home choices for new residents. Proximity to interstate 495 provides easy access to Worcester, Lowell and New Hampshire, as well as Boston.
